CodePath is a national nonprofit that brings together employers, students, and colleges to eliminate inequities in tech education and provide underrepresented students with a path toward economic mobility. Our programming centers on the needs and successes of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and low-income Computer Science students. Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 10,000 students and delivered courses across over 70 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships, ATL, leads CodePath’s presence and expansion with Atlanta serving as the primary market. Responsible for multiple facets of our success in the area, this role will operate cross-functionally (with responsibilities and goals across program success, university relations, fundraising/business development, and marketing/brand) to serve as our market lead and primary point of contact. The role will serve as a subject matter expert for Atlanta, PM internally for CodePath (liaising with and deploying other teams/resources as needed), and manage key external relationships and partnerships (in strong collaboration with the CEO and other team members).

Success in this role means

  • CodePath has formed strong relationships and is delivering systemic change at critical universities in the Atlanta region (ex: Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and the Atlanta University Center schools)

  • We enroll 500-700 Atlanta-based students in CodePath’s programs in the next two years, of which 60% identify as Black, Latinx, Indigenous, or come from low-income backgrounds

  • We activate new fundraising and corporate partnerships in the Atlanta region to support our mission to diversify our nation’s most competitive tech roles

  • We develop a strong brand presence in Atlanta, and we’re known as the catalyst to create a technically excellent workforce at scale while delivering economic mobility to the region

  • (With student/university marketing), build relationships with university presidents, provosts, CS Chairs, professors, and select students to advance CodePath objectives and impact

  • (With programs) Act as a liaison between the university and Programs to deliver high-quality student experience through CodePath’s courses and career opportunities, keeping student experience and increasing our reach top of mind

  • Use data and feedback to capture and share program performance, insights, and learnings with university partners to inform our growth and continuous improvement

Fundraising and Business Development

  • (With fundraising) Identify and manage critical relationships with funders, driving towards account health, retention, and growth while ensuring we are delivering on our commitments to funders

  • Identify new funding opportunities, either individual or institutional, to bring forward for CodePath to generate additional resources for the market. Work with the team to evaluate and prioritize new opportunities.

  • Map account strategies to pursue and close new funding relationships, bringing market-specific insights and relationship development to bear

  • (With fundraising and marketing), determine CodePath’s plan for hosting our events or convenings, and the goals, strategy, and tactics for success

  • Differentiate CodePath in the market by keeping our core values and our impact centered in all of our public-facing opportunities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in partnerships development, marketing, and/or business development/sales

  • Commitment to enabling the success of diverse talent in the tech industry

  • An open and effective communicator across different audiences (i.e., university presidents, engineering leaders, HR leaders, executive directors of corporate foundations)

  • Exceptional project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple competing priorities effectively

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Technical proficiency is a major plus (i.e., former CS student, has coding/programming experience or a tech enthusiast, i.e., you enjoy reading WIRED magazine and immersing yourself in the latest tech trends)

  • Tech nonprofit or startup experience is also a plus

Note: Research suggests that women and BIPOC individuals may self-select out of opportunities if they don’t meet 100% of the job requirements. We encourage individuals who believe they have the skills necessary to thrive at CodePath to apply for this role.
