About the Role

At CodePath, we are building the largest pipeline of high-performing, underrepresented software engineers in the industry. The CodePath Career Center supports this mission by providing college students with career coaching, mentorship, industry connections, and the access to opportunities needed to start a career in the tech industry. We've developed a suite of recruiting services to connect our students to dozens of Fortune 500 companies for internship and job opportunities, and are looking to rapidly grow revenue by launching our Sales & Business Development team.

The Sales Development Representative will source and grow relationships within the University Recruiting space to sell the Career Center’s recruiting products. This person will execute a sales strategy and drive deals that generate a substantial portion of the Career Center’s annual revenue target. As our company scales, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility as the first member of the CodePath Career Center’s sales team.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the sales funnel for university and technical recruiters - from determining the right company targets, sourcing the relevant point of contact, to closing the deal

  • Build a pipeline through both inbound and outbound contact with prospective customers - Fortune 1000s, medium to large software companies, and start-up organizations.

  • Onboard signed customers to CodePath, ensuring that the recruiting teams are effectively trained to engage with their chosen services

  • Represent CodePath at virtual events and in discussions with company partners


Example activities:

  • Hosting 20 to 25 sales calls per week with university recruiting teams

  • Developing targeted email campaigns to introduce CodePath to thousands of companies seeking early-career technical talent

  • Collaborating with our content creators and PR team to develop case studies and success stories to share with prospective customers

  • Engaging current company partners to generate referrals and introductions to new companies

  • Doing research to determine new channels to reach out core audience outside of cold emails and LinkedIn outreach

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced sales professional with:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a hunter and closer in sales roles

  • Excellent relationship builder with experience not just closing new accounts, but activating them, cultivating quality and long-lasting relationships

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact across email, text, and Slack

  • Experience with building relationships virtually

  • Ability learn context quickly and execute initiatives in a fast-paced environment

  • A self-starter who can work independently and within small teams

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience

Bonus Qualifications

  • Understanding of early-career and university recruiting trends

  • Familiarity with tech industry hiring trends and practices

  • Existing trusted relationships in the university recruiting space

  • Experience in HubSpot or other CRM/marketing automation tool
