The mission of the Senior, Manager, Student Marketing is to join the movement to diversify the tech industry and help CodePath scale our no-cost computer science programs and curriculum to underserved (Black, Latinx, low-income, first-generation) college students nationwide. CodePath has dramatically grown our student enrollment in the last year (100% year-over-year growth, from 2,600 students in 2020 to 5,000 students in 2021), and we’re looking for someone to take us to the next level.
As an early member of the Marketing team, you will own the overall implementation and execution of integrated campaigns so underserved college students nationwide will recognize CodePath as the leading organization for students to gain technical excellence, while receiving mentorship, community and industry access to launch a tech career. You are someone who can execute digital campaigns in your sleep, embrace the power of automation, and obsess over new and creative ways to connect and influence students.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with our University Expansion team to leverage our 60 university partners to drive local student community, while also running campaigns on your own to fill our popular remote courses. Most importantly, you are passionate about meeting college students where they are, and you are relentless in identifying the best ways for students who have been traditionally overlooked to learn about and gain access to our 100% free curriculum that was developed in partnership with industry leaders such as Facebook, Walmart, Microsoft, Cognizant, and Comcast.
This full-time role reports directly to the Head of Marketing
CodePath.org is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit transforming computer science education for underrepresented minorities at over 60 colleges and universities, doubling in size every semester.
Close to 80% of minorities who start a CS degree will leave CS before graduating. For those who do graduate, most will have skill gaps making them likely to leave software engineering roles or spend their careers underestimated and underemployed. By working closely with major technology companies like Cognizant, Comcast, Facebook, Microsoft, and Walmart, CodePath.org is changing CS programs nationwide to increase diversity in tech.
Students often tell us that our industry-trusted, project-based courses are their favorite CS experiences. Professors love that we handle curriculum updates, grading, and student technical support. Best of all, our courses are free for students and universities making us the first organization to offer multi-year, in-person technical education at scale and completely free.
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to drive student acquisition for CodePath’s no-cost computer science courses and early career programs
Partner with the University Expansion team to mobilize CodePath’s 180+ Tech Fellows (volunteer student leaders at campuses) to build community, facilitate our courses on-campus and drive student enrollment
Work with campus club leaders, other non-profit partners and key influencers to market CodePath’s course offerings to underserved students
Design and execute activation events to increase students’ awareness of CodePath and our offerings (i.e. Black Excellence series, Hispanic Heritage Month series, fireside chats, etc.)
Partner with our Director of Communications to collaborate, co-develop and distribute student facing content to nurture top of the funnel leads to win their hearts and minds and convert into enrollees
Work with our Operations team to create and monitor performance dashboards to measure impact. Report results to the Head of Marketing and broader team on a regular basis

Demonstrated commitment to CodePath’s mission, vision and core values
5-7 years in consumer marketing or advertising
Self-starter with a drive for results and passion for growth. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated B2C marketing campaigns for tech start-ups or nonprofits
Strong communication and writing skills. You’re not afraid to dive in and develop the messaging if we need you to quickly draft an email campaign.
Comfortable working with CodePath’s marketing tech stack and natural curiosity for learning emerging tools and technologies to improve marketing performance (i.e. conversational tools, AI bots, videos, etc.)
Domain expertise in student and campus marketing a plus
Exceptional project management skills, attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple competing priorities effectively
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills. You want to A/B test the heck out of everything to help inform our marketing approaches
Technical proficiency a major plus (i.e. former CS student, experience in developer relations, has coding/programming experience or a tech enthusiast, i.e. you enjoy reading Hacker News and immersing yourself in the latest developer conversations)
